This seminar will introduce to you the infection control principles and best practices pertaining to sterilization and disinfection of patient care items, as well as, dental unit waterlines, in accordance with the CDC guidelines. You will learn strategies to assist you in maximizing safety and efficiency of instrument processing. In addition, you will learn how to optimize the quality of water that you deliver to your patients.
Linda Jane is the Instrument Management Specialist, Trainer, Speaker and Educator for the United States and Canada at Hu-Friedy Manufacturing Company. Linda Jane has worked with dental professionals, dental thought leaders, dental distributors, dental schools, dental labs, hygiene and dental assisting schools and government facilities for the past 35 years. She shares her experience and passion for infection control and instrument management as one of the dental authorities and resources for the productivity solutions to enhance instrument selection, care, sterilization, delivery management work-flow and staff development to ensure the safety for both staff and patients. Linda Jane implemented the first Instrument Management System with Suny Buffalo, along with 10 additional Dental Schools, and over 70 hygiene schools in the United States. She has worked with thousands of dental offices on numerous instrument projects with 2 years clinical experience in a dental office and has devoted many hours to continuing dental education and training. Linda Jane is currently attending CCV in business and is OSHA 511 Certified. She is a member of Toast Masters, active member of OSAP, Kiwi’s, St Pete Power Squadron, VSWGA and CPR & First Aid certified. When time allows she volunteers at Mount Snow Vermont, as an Ability Plus Ski Instructor. She has often been referred as “The Tony Robbins of Infection Control.”

Update on Dental Assistant Rules and Regulations

The Oklahoma Board of Dentistry will provide an update on the changes for dental assistants. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and get clarification on the rules for dental assistants.
Angela Craig was elected to the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry in 2008 and is serving her 5th year on the Board as the Dental Hygiene member. As the hygienist on the Board, she chairs the “Dental Hygiene Advisory Committee” and Co Chairs the “Committee for Allied Health Education."
Angela graduated from the Dental Hygiene School at the OU College of Dentistry in 1978. She has worked in private practice dental offices in Oklahoma and Nebraska. She has held several positions with the Oklahoma Dental Hygienist’s Association including President, Legislative Chair and ADHA Delegate. She worked as an examiner for the Western Regional Examining Board (WREB) and served in that capacity for 15 years.
Having the opportunity to volunteer with the Remote Area Medical free clinic, Delta Dental Foundation and OKMOM’s have been highlight moments of her dental hygiene career.
