April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month

The ADA News (4/2, Manchir) reported that April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, which provides “an opportunity for dental professionals to reflect on their role in recognizing abuse or neglect.” Children who have been abused may have “head, neck and oral injuries,” which places dentists in a unique position to identify child abuse and neglect. Dental professionals across the country are “mandated reporters of child abuse.”
