Course Description

This course is a discussion of current trends in oral pain management. It is designed to help the dental community identify possible areas of improved pain control and use of controlled substances to improve overall public health.

* DENTISTS ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE 1 HOUR OF OPIOID PRESCRIBING OR PAIN MANAGEMENT CONTINUING EDUCATION PER YEAR FOR A TOTAL OF 2 HOURS PER 2 YEAR REPORTING PERIOD. NEWLY LICENSED DENTISTS ARE REQUIRED TO DO 2 HOURS WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF RECEIVING THEIR INITIAL LICENSE.

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Evans was born and raised in Tulsa. He attended Union schools through the freshman year of high school, at which time he transferred to Cascia Hall. After graduation, Dr. Evans attended Villanova University, just outside of Philadelphia, where he played football while pursuing his degree in chemistry. He graduated Cum Laude and chose to continue his studies at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. Throughout dental school, Dr. Evans was active in multiple campus organizations, including the American Student Dental Association, and served as vice president of his class. Upon the completion of dental school, he pursued his passion for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Nassau University Medical Center in New York, where he was exposed to all aspects of the specialty.

During residency, Dr. Evans married the love of his life, Michelle, who is also from Tulsa. They have been blessed with three beautiful children, Camden, Jade and Drake. Although the Evans family enjoyed New York, they could not pass on an opportunity to relocate to their hometown and be close to family. Outside of the office, Dr. Evans enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and sports.

Throughout dental school, Dr. Evans was active in multiple campus organizations, including the American Student Dental Association, and served as vice president of his class.

Dr. Evans is proud to be part of Eastern Oklahoma Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He holds memberships in the American Dental Association, Oklahoma Dental Association, the Tulsa County Dental Society, the William F. Harrigan Society and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Evans is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. His hospital affiliations include St. John-Tulsa, St. John-Owasso and Hillcrest South.
