With almost 2,000 dentists providing dental health care to a major population, differences between dentists and patients will inevitably occur. The ODA offers Mediation Review to help resolve such problems to all ODA members.
Mediation review is effective. It has proven to resolve over 70% of the cases brought before it. It is credible. The object of Mediation Review is not focused on which of the two parties is correct, but instead what will be required to resolve the disagreement. There are a few things that mediation review is not. It is not a court of law. The procedure is neither adversarial nor punitive. It exists to educate, explore options, clarify, and recommend a fair solution.
